Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere

It’s Pumpkin Season and I have some GREAT Treats for you

Hello! Hello!

I am going to get right to it… I LOVE pumpkins; and so does my family and my dogs do too. Well, to clarify, my dogs really love pumpkin treats… And I enjoy baking with pumpkin in the fall. It creates such a festive aroma and really helps me get into the spirit of the season.

I took my daughter to our church pumpkin patch this past weekend and we picked out an extra-large one to carve and several small ones just to place around the house. I plan on doing a few other fall decorations later in the week. I’ll post a picture next week of my fireplace mantel. I am always especially happy with how it usually turns out.

But back to baking with pumpkin… I want to share the recipe my pups get especially excited about…

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Natural Dog Treats

It’s super easy, your dog will will be so happy and your kitchen will smell heavenly…

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

Preheat oven to 350°

Blend together the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt and cinnamon in a bowl. Add water as needed to help make the dough workable because the dough will initially be thick but the dough should be dry and stiff. Roll the dough into a 1/2 inch thick roll, cut into 1/2 inch pieces and if desired, use a cookie cutter to cut the dough  into different shapes and place on an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake in pre-heated oven until hard and golden brown, about 35 minutes.

To preserve freshness, store in an airtight container.

Oh, and if you like baking several batches at a time, these treats freeze really well too.

So my family doesn’t like being left out of the pumpkin yumminess so I am always on the lookout for treats they will also enjoy.

Feast your eyes on this:

Oh my! This is definitely a yummy treat to enjoy this season!

I told you this post is ALL ABOUT PUMPKINS

Just look at this cuteness…

This was my son’s (Sam) first Halloween. He was about 6 weeks old. He just turned Twenty. Oh my! How the time flies when you’re having FUN!

And here is another cutie-patootie…

This sweet girl is my daughter, Anna. She was about 3.5 years old in this photo and she is now Seventeen. I love how she is posing with the flower in her hand. She pulled it from the Mum right before here photo.

Such sweet memories.

Do you have any fun Fall traditions, recipes or memories to share? I would love to hear about it.

So, most know that I love lists, journals, workbooks, planners… anything where I can put pen to paper just gets me excited. There is something about the physical act of writing that just solidifies ideas and thoughts for me.

I LOVE all of these great pumpkin items. (the kids are just adorable). I’m just figuring out some fun fall/halloween activities to do with my kids now that they’re getting a little bit older and understanding. We already love apple picking and decorating for the fall. I love the to do lists, I like the idea of being organized, even if it doesn’t always pan out!
