Let’s get 2021 started!
Would I want to do 2020 again? H*LL TO THE NO! But was it all bad? Looking back, no.
Despite the fear, confusion, anxiety and frustration that 2020 threw our way, many realizations were revealed to us. It was a hard year for so many but through the hardness, we found strength, resilience and perserverance.
Here are the truths that 2020 revealed to me:
- In all of my 22 years of marriage, I realized the true partnership I share with my hubby. I leaned on him so very much and when I felt strong, he knew he could lean on me. March of 2020 was the beginning of a new reality we never could have fathomed. But we figured it out – together.
- Children really are resilient.
- Teachers ARE so very important and needed. We need to always remember that and never take them for granted.
- When I could barely put one foot in front of the other, friends and neighbors came to talk, walk, or to simply BE. Those moments of solidarity reminded me that we are all in this thing called life together and simply doing the best we can.
- Circles were small. I am so very blessed to have my circle.
- Fresh air is so important. Make time to just get outside and feel the wind on your face and the sun on your back. It’s amazing how theraputic it can be.
- Life and all its struggles didn’t just stop because of the pandemic. Some were called to their heavenly home, jobs were lost, relationships ended. Life changed, the world changed, we changed. And here we are; battled and bruised but stronger and wiser.
As we close out a year like no other, I realize that I have been shown, up close and personal, how hardships can reveal beauty. Like the oyster that endures affliction and through its own strength and perserverance, a pearl is produced.
